House Shrine Panel | Wood

Every Hindu has a niche or small altar in their home for the daily puja ritual: the offering of food, flowers, water and fire to a small statue of a deity chosen from the vast Hindu pantheon. Artisans from Karnataka (South India) crafted these panels from carefully selected wood believed to possess special powers. For decades, these panels were used as a backdrop for the house shrine.
